Direct Drive Touring Car Chassis Kit Direct Drive System Allows Realistic Control!

Based on Tamiya's ever-popular F103 chassis, this chassis features newly designed front upright and rear wheel axles, allowing it to utilize touring car wheels and body. The chassis can also make use of a wide variety of option parts to further improve and tweak performance.
About the Direct Drive Touring Car
- Front suspension: ITEM 53258 Formula Link-Type Front Suspension (newly designed front upright)
- Rear suspension: T-Bar System (newly designed Rear wheel axles)
- Tire: ITEM 53220 Super Slick Tires (4pcs)
- Chassis may use any 1/10 Touring Car body (excluding short wheelbase type)
- Chassis weight of 700g is much lighter than 4WD touring cars, allowing greatly increased running time

I am glad that Tamiya came up with something unique, a Direct Drive Touring chassis.
I don't think the stock version will have all those Blue parts.

Looks good but who's the market. There isn't a Racing class for it, doesnt really appeal to the basher who wants 4wd and bashability. I like tamiyas guts to release something alternative to the mainstream but this is a no go IMO. They want to make a 12th scale, that'd be very interesting

I think it's the best thing i've seen in a long time!
I ran F103 when I was 11-14 in the Tamiya Championship Series back in the mid late 90's i finished 5th overall in 1998 when i was 13 years old. and I had a blast with these cars. they were really cool to drive!
It would be very sad if this did not become a class in the TCS cause they really need it bad. They could really use a new type of touring car that would be affordable to maintain and easy to drive. I hope to the high heavens that they make this a class and it really takes off!

I admire the risk, but realistically I doubt it will ever catch on. There are already an abundance of classes, and I doubt if there is room for another. I'd like it to succeed, but it doubt it will.

F103's are soooo dialed. Easy to work on, very simple, and great fun! Don't knock it until you try it.

cheap, fast, and easy to maintain...i'd buy one. but like others have said, if there is no class for it, it wouldn't be much fun unless you could race it against others. to build it, then leave it sitting on your shelf would be a total waste.
