Thumbs up Offical Mini LST Thread (I hope)

Well I went to my LHS fully intended to buy a Mini-T. But when I got there my friend was working and he said "guess what we got in?" theh he held up a Mini LST box. And was like whoa they are put now? Awesome. So was like forget the Mini-T, I getting the Mini LST. So I payed for it and we took it out of the box and charged the battery, added batteries to the radio, and started messing with it in the store. Man this truck handles great and its very fast. Of course couldn't give it full throttle because the floors where cement so it would just slide all over. Well it has alot, oil filled shocks, dual steering servoes, dual 370 motors, 4WD, dual deck aluminum chassis, 5-spoke chrome wheels, monster truck tires with foam inserts, seperate ESC and receiver, 2 Channel 27mHz 6 frequency synthezied(sp?) radio. Plus full bearings through out including the tranny. I think Team Losi out did themselves with this one, they have another huge hit on there hands. I'm normally a pro Associated guy, but this one is making me realize that Losi it just as good. I have and 18T too, and love that one as well, som now I two 1/18 trucks that I love. The Mini LST is about 2.5 inches taller than the 18T, 1/2 inch longer, and an inch wider than 18T. I think this will be a hot seller this year.

Hey! what a way to start this thread. I always browse on one18th.com just to know more about this little beast.

Nice little truck you got there. I have mine pre-ordered on our LHS. But it will still be by first week of december before their shipment arrives. So, how it is so far? Give us your first hand review on this one. The GOOD and the BAD.

I also share your view, I can see that this will be a huge hit for the 1/18th market.

Well so far so good, the truck is well built and strong, very fast. But I have only ran it inside so for. I am going to a local park that has an offroad bike track, to run it through its paces. As for battery life it comes with same Mini-T 7.2V 1100mAh battery and I was able to run for about 20 minutes, actually a little over 50 minutes ( I bought another battery too.) So today will be the real test. But I have found anything really bad on this truck excpet the battery holder set up in the truck. It is really tight and difficult to connect the battery wires, and the atenna is a little to short for the antenna tube. Thats really about it. And can't find any hop-ups yets, but they are coming, I know they are.

Yup, it is 27mHz FM and has 6 frequencies. Very easy to switch channels, just a button on the radio and a button on the receiver. Very good control and it definately the best RTR radio system you can, I believe I read somewhere that it was developed by Team Losi and JR Radios.

here are some few bugs I read at other micro forum:
1. ballcups pop easily
2. axle pins bend after some use
3. there is a wobble on the tires or they are not perfectly round (something like that)
4. after some abuse, the wheels/rims cracks

Please let us know if you experience some of them. but the good thing is, a losi representative is active on that forum and welcomes all the "bad" feedbacks from mlst owners.

Well I took her to a consturction site today. There where some decent jumps and tons of rough terrian. I made sure both batteries where fully charged. And it was tearing up the dirt like no body buisness. I 'm mean it was awesome. Took some jumps I built very well, and didn't flip once, it did have a tendency to nose dive but just a throttle and the nose stays up. It is fast in the dirt, very stable. I did a full inspection after the run, and everything was still in place. Nothing lose, no broken parts, and no bent parts, did wear some of the tire down, and chipped the chrome on the front right rim, but I was driving hard. I'm telling you Losi has created the great 1/18th monster truck, and I'm normally an AE guy too, but RC18Mt could hold a candle to this one. But I feel that the Mini-LST is in a class of it's own.

i was looking at getting a 4wd 1/18 soon. looked hard at the RC18T, but from what you have said the Mini LST looks pretty mean. just wonder when they will make better motor for the LST. or are the stockers pretty fast?

Well the 18T RTR comes with a stock 370, and it is wicked fast, no sure excat speed I would like maybe 18-20 mph, but I read on one18th.com that someone clocked the stock Mini-LST at 25mph, which is pretty good since it is a heavy little truck. But there is some mod motors according to the parts list of Mini-LST.

thank you for your report Bandit. I really hope that the problems that others encountered are just flukes form production. Your review just makes me want my mini-lst more. It will be less than 2 weeks now. Cant wait.

My hobby shop got some in yesterday and we had one opened to play around as a demo unit. The dual 370 makes the Mini-LST move at a respectable speed. The only thing I will complain about is the truck's top heavy. Seems to flip over on its back easily and can't take high speed corners like a Mini-Inferno or an RC18T. I'm sure it could be easily solved with new springs or a way to lower it.

Yeah, I need to get a spring set, for it, but even I thinks even if I add the Losi Mini-T pro shock set it would would be a little more stable. Headed to to my LHS today to pick up some aluminum arms for my 18T, and maybe just maybe pick up a Mini-T since I need a 2WD so I can compete/race in all class of truck

The included with the Mini-LST is 7.2V 1100 Ni-MH(6 cell), I bought and extra one just to always have one ready to go.
