Being on my own dime, many of the matchers use very similar equipment to match cells. A couple from what I have read do have some solder process in place. Different pricing assembled vs assembled. Now that there is a little competiton between IB and GP it is too early to see how that plays out (are they equal, is one better that the other, longevity of cell performance, etc)

With that said cost has an impact. I would love to be able and say that I prefer x brand every time (so far I have been Hurricane). But cost has a lot to do with who I deal with. Like I said I'm on my own dime and this is an expensive sport. I have spoken to several matches about pricing and which cell IB or GP. I still am not sure about the IB or GP at this point. 3 pack prices vs single pack purchases.

I realize matches need to make a profit for their time and equip maintenance etc.

Just my .02.

I have BOUGHT a few different types of batteries and here is my picks.

I have used both Peak and Orion and they are just "good".

I have used the local guy with 100 loose cells and a matcher and they were not as good as Orion and Peak with comperable numbers. To be expected.

I have used my own loose cells and for $25 per pack and I call them a great value. But they will not hang with matched packs in stock. Mod is fine. But for club racing I love the value they provide.

I have used ProMatch cells and I must say that they were not the "best" out of the box but they are THE longest lasting matched packs I have owned by far. I am continued to be amazed at how long these are "competitive"

The best cells I have used is Fusion. I love how cool they stay during those 8x2 touring car races. I love how "solid" they stay together in the tuff offroad. And I have charged them 4 times a day with no "fade". These guys win my vote if I need to buy some matched packs major racing events.

Corally- I've been using them for over 4 years. Good and fair pricing unlike some I've dealt with in the past.

The point is I want to do some market research. I didint want everyone to come on here and say I run x brand or I am sponsored by y brand and they are the best. That is why I said it the way I did. If you had to switch to another brand then what you use now who would it be and why.

ProMatch batteries are the way to go. They rock and their support is by far the best I have delt with. Good prices also!!

That's cool, I assume you know where this thread will actually go though. Good luck hope you get the info you are looking for.

Jay

PS I guess my answer would be Pro Match, I wouldn't leave to begin with. Best in the business hands down. Service,Quality,Honesty, and a Great Product.

I'd buy my own Turbomatcher, a case of cells, and match my own.

Then I'd print up some phony labels and sell what I didn't want off at "Bald Bubba's Big Battery Blowout"!

It's what the other 500 battery 'matchers' in this country do, ain't it?

I would try FUSION. I currently use ProMatch and SMC for my race packs.
