Default Questions on getting a Starter Box

I was thinking about getting this Ofna 1/10 Starter Box for my HPI RS4 2 and it says that it uses a 12v battery. What type of chargers can I use to charge the 12v battery?

Could I use a SuperBrain 959 Charger?

I also have the superbrain 959 charger, but I use it for charging my receiver pack. The problem with the superbrain charger is that it will charge up your bettery but it won't give you as many mah as the $11 charger, if you want to be more accurate you need to buy a $100+ charger.

the more mah you got the more the battery works, and the super brain got .5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5, and etc, while the battery is like 600mah, so the superbrain can only get .5 which is 500mah to your battery, which means less run time, but the advantage is it will charge it full, with the $11 charger you never know if it's full or not.

this is kinda of confusing, sorry

Alright, I think for now I will stick with the $11 charger. Thanks for the info.

also the super brain 959 can't charge those kind of batteries, so you can't buy it, the $11 charger is your best bet.

Alright, well I just purchased the Ofna Starter Box and Hobbico Charger.

I just got back into Nitro after a 2 year break and this is the first time I am using a non-pull start motor.

Can you overcharge the batteries with the overnight charger? How do I know when to charge my batts and how long to charge them, is it ok if I over charge them?

You could use the Super Brain 959 to charge a 12V battery.
Here's a quote from the Tower Hobbies description.
"Charges NiCd & NiMH batteries, Lithium, and Lead Acid"

PSI read the super brain instruction manual, it states it and i quote "DO NOT attempt to charge Alkaline, Dry Cells, Gel Cells, Lead Acid, Lithium, or other batteries with this charger."

The only betteries this charger charges is nickel cadmium or nickel metal hydrate batteries.

Tower hobbies makes mistakes too, but before i tried to charge the batteries i read the instructions, I don't need to have any accidents from exploding or leaking batteries.

Now, would you like me to also scan the instruction manual?

My bad Compaq888.
It's the wrong model number.
I was talking about the 969.

It's not that much more than a 959.
It's less than $100.
