Starter box

Starter box
Sure wish I hadnt sold all my stuff, I do this every couple of years and end up regretting it later. Last year I sold everything (about this time) and now I'm back in to it again.
Anyways, I'm looking at getting a G4 and was wondering what starter box to get for it. I used the Ofna 12v 1/8 box in the past since it could configured quite a few different ways but is there a box that has a nice configuration for this car?
I never cared for the boxes using the two 540 motors but are they good enough now or should I stick with a 12 volt motor?

Well, typically 2 540 motors powered by a 7amp 12V battery has plenty of power to start .12 and .15 engines. I have even started a brand new .25 before but it did have a hard time. But other than that, it will ge the job done. anything under.21 can be started with 2 540's.

No. 1 Choice--Team Magic Alpha Starter Box
Lamberto Collari & Josh Cyrul used the Alpha starter box to win 2004 1/8 On-Road World Champion & TQ. Though it is the smallest starter box in the world, it is powerful because of the advanced reduction gear system. Also, there is a special chassis bracket available when you use the G4 on the Alpha.
No. 2 Choice--Team Magic X5 Starter Box
With this stylish box, you can start most gas cars. Either 12v gel battery or 7.2v battery pack can be put inside.

I really like my Ofna 1/8 scale box, it was a similar design to that one only bigger. I like that you can configure the wheel both ways depending on your car. The one problem I had with it was how big the wheel was for 1/10. At the time I was running a 10GT and had to open up the whole in the chassis a bit so the wheel could contact the flywheel.
Will I have to do any modding to fit the G4?

With starter boxes that big you should be able to ride them around in the pits

We have two of the Trinity x-5 starter boxes and we love them..They cost about 60 buck's a piece here at a Hobby town USA store..Itll fire up our .12's and .21's without a hiccup.. I highly recommend them.. R.
