PPD EZ-LiPo --TC5 and beyond LiPo mounting Solution.
I've been considering LiPo for some time, and have been talking to many people and watching the various fabing, taping, pounding and cutting of lead weights for batteries going on and just got discouraged and held off. So...I'm done waiting and have designed a new mounting and balancing system that is going production this week.
This is a 2 piece system that uses high bond adheasive tape to mount to battery (and chassis if ROAR asks). It's made of polished 303 stainless steel, and is precision CNC machined (prototype pic is not polished yet ). It will lock into all 6 chassis slots, and you can use the stock battery strap. The weight goes right where it's best placed, low to chassis and toward outer edge. This will be a near exact match to your NiMh weight (in terms of balance), so if you were balanced with IB / EP4200 you'll be balanced with this conversion on a 9.5 oz Trackpower / Core / Kokam type cell. Battery is now protected, and bullet proof for high speed T-bone jobs is your unfortunate enough to run with me.
Also, I have a phase 2 edition that will weight the other cars...XRay, Schumacher, ect that have low top deck clearance. I expect the prototypes will be completed within 2 weeks, they will have a concealed and adjustable weight system that will look almost as nice .

I'm hoping to get down in the low to mid 30's for both pieces...say $34.00 ish This is stainless steel though (no corrosion--high strength--good weight properties) but... machine cycle time and tool wear will ultimately dictate...definately under 40 though.

I may get around to that, but it creates production issues and a custom program....possible a 2 part minimum on custom. I will produce blanks also that people can have done, add carbon fiber, or emblem of their choice to also. It will be nice to get this sweet looking "big boy toys" looking sharp again.

You dont have a weight problem with that. This adds 5.5 oz as the 4900, and 5000's are near 9.5 oz. and the 3600's are 7.7 as opposed to 16oz for a wired 4200 NiMh pack. For the 3600 I will have an optional weight that can add more to in a concealed channel cut.
