MBX5T Questions
Hi,
I am so excited that my MBX5T Prospect is in the mail and on its way to me. But I have a few questions for the MBX5T.
1) Which diff juice (oil) do you guys use? I was told that people use something like 5K front, 10K mid, and 3K rear. And that those oils are not provided in the kit.
2) As I am new to Truggies and do have experience with buggies, is there anything special that I need to pay attention to on the truggy vs. that is different on the buggy.
Thanks!!!

Do not use the little o rings that go behind the 4 small gears in the diff. I believe they are called S3 o-rings in the manual. When my truck was new I used 5,7,3 in the diffs. I am up to 5,10,5 now and will probably go up to 7 in front soon. One thing you will want is a set of 1.5mm pistons (should be black). Stock pistons are 1.4mm (should be white). The truck handles small bumps a lot better with the bigger pistons.

Also, what do you guys think of these two setup?

For diff oil I use 7/10/3 and she runs like a dream.
Shocks I have 400 in the front and 350 in the rear. It only comes with one of these cant remember which one.
As far as the piston holes. I had a 1.5mm drill bit that I used to make the 1.4mm holes bigger. Or you can spend $13 and buy the 1.5's. Trust me that 0.1 makes a huge difference.

I place an order for 7/10/3 oil and 1.5mm pistons. I may have some Mugen 350 shock oil at home. I have to check. It's good I doing all this research now before I start putting my truck together, which hopefully will be this weekend.
I see both the S3 and S5 o-rings in the manual. Is this a common thing to not use the S3 O-rings?
Any other tips would be appreciated also.

Sand the diff cups flat and use double gaskets so they wont leak. Yes nobody uses the s-3 o rings in the diffs.

do NOT I repeat DO NOT double gasket them. This can throw off the mesh some guys do that but 2 gaskets will not fix the problem just build them right and you will have no problems. Also be sure to shim the diff correctly.
