Power Capacitor to gain acceleration

Are you only running two cells in your car? In other words NO. 2.5 won't work.

my experience
I run Tamiya Mini cooper class. We all run the same motor and pinion gearing.Basically everything on the car is spec.I put a 22000 microfarad 10v cap on and everyone notices a huge difference in acceleration and mid throttle speed on my car compared to thiers. They basically think I am cheating because on a 120 ft straight I am pulling almost everyone by half the straightaway at the end of it.We run tamiya black cans so we are limited in the tuning department. We have noticed when others do the same{use these caps}the outcome is more or less the same.More punch and mid throttle power.I am not a scientist, these are just my observations from my own personal use.So whats pops has observed is the same for me.in mod I think it would be useless.

Power Capacitor to gain acceleration
racenut123;
You should try one of those new High Frequency Schotty Diodes (Boosters).
I haven't had a chance to test mine out yet, but several of the Guys I race with regularly, are claiming noticable gains over a standard Schotty Diode.
In the classes with regulated Motors, whatever it takes to (legally) gain an advantage.

1 cap compared to 2
If one cap makes a difference, then will two caps make a bigger difference or just take up more room?
Thanks,
Thanks,

In the capacitors we use we want.
High capacity (microfarads) usually more than 2000.
Low ESR (Equal Series Resistance) usually less than 0.05 ohms
Voltage above 10 volts, 16 volts if you use 2 packs ala E-Maxx
Temperature at least 60°c.

I just want to clarify:
There is a + and a -. The capacitor minus wire is marked with a white stripe with minus on it on the body of the cap.
You must hook it up to the wires going from the ESC to the battery (as close to the ESC as possible). Red is +, black is -.
Hooking it up on the ESC wires to the motor will have the opposite of the desired effect (both the motor and the cap will be fighting for charge as you accelerate).
It has made a clear, noticable difference for me. Acceleration is MUCH quicker.

I went in the garage and took an old Power supply(computer) and took it apart. Found out it has sever Caps And took them out.
which would you use. or what Can i use the others for
3300uf16V
3300uf 10V
2200uf 6.3V
330 200V
330 200V
let me know

3300 uf 10 volts or
3300 uf 16 volts.
I use a 4700 uf 16 volts, 105 C, Type FC.
Let us know if you notice the difference

so i would just solder one end to + on Esc other to - correct? you can tell never used a Cap before

Yes.
Match up the - on the ESC to the - on the capacitor.
Match up the + on the ESC to the + on the capacitor.
Remember to attach the capacitor on the battery wires of the ESC.
Also, I found the manufacturer website with the capacitor specs. Check out the initial post.

....the Cap doesnt have a -, + on it...

Is there a white stripe on the side? That is negative.
Look at the place where the leads are. There might be a small symbol.
