Default 1/8th Scale On-road

Just thought we need to start a thread for 1/8th scale On-road guys....

I've got a Mugen MRX-3, and just put it together. Does anyone out there know if the front roll bar's stiffness is adjustable, and if so, how do you do it? I know you're supposed to adjust it so the arms drop the same amount, is that what they're talking about when they say "adjustable"?

kevin,
Are you talking about the front sway bars? If you are then yes it is adjustable. Stiffness adjustment is achieve by turning the angle of you bar(literally) if its flat then you have the softest setting. 90 degrees would be the stiffest it can get.......I usually have mine in 45 angle.

Oh okay, that makes sense. Tanks!

Also I realized the belt tensioner rod on the MRX-3 sucks. Mine snapped today, after only 2 days of running. I didn't even have it that tense. Another guy I know at SVM has gone through 2 also. Anyone got a fix/hopup?

Hey got speed?
Bring out your Richey and your 1/8 tomorrow. What engine did you get for it?
I heard SVM won't allow us to run our cars since there is an off road race there tomorrow? can you check?

Man.....Karlton should get a cordless phone.....I'll pass by on my way home....MRX is still in the bench.......no engine yet most probably a regular C4.....still need a pipe, rx, and servos...

I could probably pass by early Saturday and run the Impulse with the RB .... I'll bring the RTU to show you...can't install it on the V-One R yet since I'm still waiting on some aluminum shafts & parts from Jim K.....

BTW they say it might rain late SAT, SUN, MON, TUES.....

Hey Kevin I found the solution to the belt tensioner problem:

Kawahara Part #A-011 for the MRX-3

Hope Steve carries it......

You can only catch Kevin's evo4 with a mod....
Driving an 1/8 is very good training for 1/10 scale racing. You will know what I'm talking about .

Hey boyz:

got_speed: I used to be a sicko golfer before I started racing a while back. Racing's in my blood now, but I enjoy a good hack occasionally! I talked to Steve at Speedtech and I think he's got Kawahara tensioner. He was wondering if the Mugen MTX-2 tensioner will also fit...I'll find out. The MRX-3 is hella fast- right now it's a handful! Unfortunately not as dialed out of the box as my sedan. I'm really struggling for on-power rear traction, and also feel a mild off-power push mid-corner. The thrust bearing on the two speed disintegrated after 1 1/2 race days. I've got a bushing in there right now, but the clutch felt pretty hot after a tank...Stevo's got the bearing in stock today also. Not sure what's up. Clutch adjustment to loose?? The specified amount space required for the clutch bell seems right. Could also be track dust buildup .

Tambok: I'm pretty sure you'll be able to run Saturday. Just with even channels though. Although last week we had some problems with guys driving on the offroad (not a certain pro guy was it? hmmm... doh!)
