19' x 29' =$27
24' x 39 =$26
30' x 59' = $145 (this was a "silver" one, maybe heavier duty).

Though i talked to a few people, including Mike the track guy, who said tarps arent gonna help, that water will get under them and we'll have wet tarps sitting on top of mud and it'll be a big mess.

The problem is were dos the water go if we tarp it? There is no run off right now and the tarps wont help that. Tarps will work if we could get the water to run off. The track is surounded buy a foot or more of concrete above the track surface.

Steve - I actually ran Mike Baker's rent-a-wreck XXXCR since my stuff was all at home. (MRC really needs to get parts in)

It would be sick to be able to attach the tarp to the side of the building and then drain it all off the track and into the back parking lot. It would be awesome to get a permante cover for the track, no walls just a cover for those hot summers. I am totally dreaming but it would not be that hard to do with some money and time.

I got the ok to go racing this weekend as well! No place to run with the storm that is coming in this weekend! Oh well. Lets hope things look better for next weekend.

Build it and they will come!
How much would it really cost?
I'm sure we could fund it with donations/support from racers (serious ones).
I would drop some cash on that idea, heck that would make me part owner, no? NO!
Attach the tarps to the building like you said and attatch it to several supports across the track. Tarps are replaceable and relatively cheap.
Pass the hat and we may be suprised how much you get

mike also mentioned that something similar was attempted and the city shot them down. The owner i think wanted to put an "extended awning" over the track but the city said it was too weak and would need support beams everywhere if they really wanted to do that. The "tarp-a-roof" idea sounds like it would work, but lacing together smaller tarps to do it would not be too effective (mike says hes tried this elsewhere and that water always leaks through the overlapping points regardless of method used to seal them). A tarp big enough would be a huge investment i think. At least $300.

the track was a pool at one time so i'm getting a boat to race on the track this weekend

i don't think there is a good way to cover the track cheap so we need to build a drain system in to the track.
