Just something I was thinking about...

Say you happen to get the new Kyosho carbon fiber rear shock towers (the ones that the factory guys were running at the Worlds)...would you still need the new shock shafts to run the mid-rear conversion?

The longer shock shafts are 4mm longer than stock...but IIRC, the carbon fiber tower is 4mm shorter than stock. So could you get away with running the stock shocks on the carbon fiber tower when converting to the mid-rear?

...then again, you'd probably need the shorter shock bodies in order to maintain the same amount of suspension travel (without the arms slamming into the bottoms of the bodies), right?

Kinda makes for interesting possible combinations when actually converting to the mid-rear.

What Kyosho needs to do is package the mid-arm CVD dogbone separately from the axles and slash the price. You can get a replacement bone for the stock CVDs separately...why not the mid?

encore75, the 65.5mm cvd dogbone's part # is LA232-01.

seems that you guys are threading out the lower shock ends a couple of turns for more droop, can we use LA43 rod ends as the lower shock ends instead? this rod end is longer than the stock shock end, and this mod has been used on the ZX5 to gain more front end droop as well....

I've considered that...maybe if good ol' grator gets a couple new kits for his little projects he can spare me a body...

In response to why we have a Bandit body, and not one for the RB5:

Default LiPo Plate Info

Here is some info as some people were asking:

Team Orion IB4200WC 6 cell pack (assembled) 15.3 oz
Team Orion 4800 LiPo pack 9.1 oz
O.C.D. Stainless Steel Plate 4.5 oz

So it still leaves you 1.7 oz to play with (or not). I also put a 1/4 oz weight under the steering rack and have been playing with 3/4 oz by the rear bulkhead. So it leaves me just under NiMH weight, which is nice!

How are securing the weight under the rack, I tried with the tape that is on it, and my own servo tape, both fell off in 1 round. Would shoe goo hold up in that location?

Shoe goo should work or you could drill a hole in the weight and screw it to the chassis with a countersunk screw from the bottom of the chassis.

I just use regular double sided tape and it hasn't budged. Just make sure you clean the surface with motor spray or something. You could also heat up the tape before applying it with a lighter or heat gun.

We just received RB5 bodies here at Kyosho in our last shipment that came in earlier this week. You should be able to get one on order.
