nice job tony! your MBX5R is an inspiration on what I want to do to my MBX5.

Do you have the part numbers you needed for the battery tray from the RC10GT2? Want to make sure I don't miss anything.

My UBEC is mounted above the steering servo, may look into moving it to the box too.

Why don't you guys run a123 m1 cells? They are cheaper and you don't have to worry about them blowing up so you can just leave them in your buggy or truck if your paranoid about that stuff. You can pick them up in dewalt battery packs on ebay for 8-10 a cell too. The cells are 3.3volt 2300 mah cells and they are rated at 30c. You could build a 13.2volt 9.2k mah pack for under $160. They also charge them at a much faster rate then lipos. They actually tell you to charge 2300 mah packs at a 10 amp rate, and there is no need to slow the last few seconds of the charge down like w/ lipos.

you connect the power input wires to you ESC's power input wires

Would you mind elaborating on that? I just don't want to fry something. Do you connect using a Deans or something?

Buthow much room would it take up compared to a regular LiPO pack? The A123 cells seem to have a lower energy density per volume.

actually its higher. The cells are round so they do fit a little more awkward, but they do have a higher energy level per volume plus the cells are very durable so you can lay them around the chasis in your config ( you don't have to have a 6 inch high pack in the middle of your chasis to run). A 4600 mah 6.6 volt pack will be slightly shorter and slightly wider then a regular 6cell stick. It would take 4 of these to make a 13.2volt 9200 mah pack, so basicly about the same room as 4 6cell stick packs.(16 of the cells).

just solder the power wires for the BEC to the battery wires on the circuit board of the Mamba Max.

Dan from RCPD and I went to the I-Hobby show in Chicago yesterday. Here are the latest pics of the concepts for the MMM. It is still not finished. It was tie-strapped down to the chassis. Joe said it was going to integrate the fan in the final case design. Rated at 200 amps. I forgot how many lipos, but I think 6. The new CC BEC will be intergrated in the ESC too. There are more pics coming later of the other suppliers.

Joe is very nice to talk too. Very passionate and a total hobby guy.

There was mention that they have or will have an aggreement with Neu now.
I know that there will be a lot more questions. I'll edit this post if I remembered more things.

OH...... he said around January.

Thats awesome! Be nice to have everything in one unit, and if they could make a MMM and Neu combo, wow!

Default Great Show

Tom and I had a great time at I Hobby yesterday.
We were do busy talking and meeting people that we have talked or emailed that we really didn't get to see as much of the show as we would have like to!!
Great news from Castle and Tekin about their product. Both are hard at work to get product to us as soon a possible. Novak had a Brushless conversion kit they are working on selling. ALOT of excitement about these kits. As soon as I pulled the EL8 out of the bag there were always people looking and asking questions.

Adam Drake of Losi took a good look at it too and really like it. His boss is very familiar with this discussion and is following it closely.

Proline's Scott Hughes purchaced a EMBX5 Kit and is very excited about getting it up and running. The president of Proline was very interested also.

Hi.
This is a great news about Castle MMM .Hopefully we can get them till summer of 2008

I still can’t understand LIMITER/DROOP. From where to where I have to take measurement and how to adjust the start point for this alignment .On Adam Drake setup
sheet the front Limiter/droop is 95mm and 106.5 for rear.
Thanks

hey guys i have a quick question

earlier in this post someone was talking about useing a 51 tooth spur (ofna i think) and i was just wondering what the part numbers are, i cant find anything about it.

my curent set up is a hot bodies LSP with a nue 1515 1d 46x11 gears with a mamba max and its getting very hot so im hopeing to be able to lower the gear ratios alittle more.

i have done the mamba hole mod, converted to 12g wire and i have fans on the motor and esc, is there anything else i can do to help lower heat?

thanks for the help
