How to give more directivity on the losi xxx-s ?
DNOS,
Thanks for the information about the Losi's website. I'll check it and stay tuned for your upcoming settings.
Well, for now, I run with 2° front hubs and 0° rear hubs. About the camber : 1.5° on each wheel. About the toe in : I'd say 2°.
The front et rear diff are loose. I can't go further.
About the shocks : Losi 35 oil on front and rear. Losi purple springs on front and silver on rear. No swaybar (the car doesn't oversteer). But I guess it understeers a bit given I'm trying to get more directivity, mostly at low speed.
Well, I'm gonna run five packs today.
Cheers.

hey guys i ran my car in 19t and stock and now i want to go back to 540 and it seems to be understeering im using the xxx-s graphite version
my currents setup is
0° front hubs and RTR rear hubs not sure what they are. camber 2° on front and 0° on rear, toe in on rear is 3° and 0° on the front
blue springs on the front i and red on th rear with 30wt all round i think
rear diff and oneway used, i have the aluminium steering if that makes a difference
i have 26 cm as a wheel base and try to keep the ride height around 4.5-5 mm
i also put my batteries in the forward possition
i have included a pic with my position of my electonics
the track i run on is outdoors tarmac(old basketball courts) with one long curving stright with a tight middle section leading to a straight run into a hair pin onto a long sweaping quick straight with a quick left then right turn back onto the start line again
this should be enough info i hope

One setup suggestion is that to add a degree or degree and a half of camber to the rear. It'll make the rear end grip more. Try running a spool in the front, if you're having problems with spinning when breaking, and also you can use the breaks without having to worry about spinning out. Maybe also want to try running 4 degree hubs up front. I always run 4 degrees and liked it best. Also depends on preference and how you want the steering to feel like.
Minnesh- My car was all graphite and it was still 270grams over weight in the 540 class lol. I dont know much about the V8 speed controller, but it should be fine. With the motor, it depends on which ones can be in the super stock class you want to move up to.
Darkness- Brad what andle are the front shocks at? I had mine stood all the way out with the blue springs.

yeah im not sure at the moment as im at UNi but ill check and let you know Luke
TL_XXX-S_racer - yeah i dont think the spool would help me as at our track in 540 we dont need to brake as we just roll through the corners but i might give the camber on ther rear a go

xxx-s cvds
my roomate has a xxx-s that he wants to add hop ups but hes not sure if they will work. He wants to put hpi purple cvds, purple turnbuckles, purple wheel hexes, purple wheel nuts, and purple shock will these work on the losi platform? Thanx

you might be able to fit the tc3/4 alloy parts on it as i know a few of the tc3 parts fit as alternatives to the losi uprights and possible the cvd's depending on the lengths and seeing that they are both imperial that also helps with the wheel nuts

thanks minnesh

Yes i used the MF Red spur gear adapter the whole time i had my XXXS

Yes, but I didn't like it, it actually added weight to the drivetrain. The Losi spur gears are lighter overall.
Yes it was heavier, but for racing 540 it was great cause you could get the gearing down in the low 4's, not saying that you cant with the losi spur gears but you didnt have to go and buy 40 tooth pinons lol.

thanks
thanks
i think i git it now
without the spur adaptor
using 35 pinion
88 spur with 62 ratios is 4.6
roll out with 62 mm tyres 42.33
is this correct
thanks

have put a 28 pinion with 86 spur, still to try it out
what u guys think
maybe i should try a 26 pinion...or should i go smaller
whats the recommended roll out for this motor
thanks minnesh
