Just wondering if anybody has any old/wrecked R40 bodies that they don't want. I'll be more than happy to pay for shipping charges. Thanks

It might be easier to ask around at some local races.
hey guys i was planning on getting the mugen mtx-4 for this season but i decided i would just wait until the prospec came out...so in the mean time i want an R40,,,,, is it worth the extra cash to get the HARA R40 or just the normal one??? what are the differences ....can anyone tell me what i would need to do to the chassis right away b4 i race it after im done building it??? if it needs anything more
thanks

The 05 Hara version is completely loaded and features a different upper deck and chassis than the previous R40 kits. I would opt for that one as it's sold in the US. The 04 is the Japanese version sold overseas...but you can probably get one for a great price. As for the MTX4 prospec it may be coming out soon, but lots of guys are doing great with a box stock mtx4.
ok now truthfully...does the hara r40 keep up with the stock mtx4 or what?

r40 hara edition
been looking at finaly moving to the road sec, and that car that is doing it for me is th r40 hara edition. but i was going to ask every one else what they think about this car.
The standard R40 US edition is a bit too heavy to be a direct comparison to that car. The 2004 aisa version has all the light weight parts on it, and the 2005 Hara US version has light parts plus an updated chassis, top plate and fuel tank. The 2004 Aisa and 2005 Hara flavors of the R40 are just as good as any other cars on the market right now. It really depends on what you like to run and what your local hobby shops stock for parts.

I was able to find a use for my motor that I wanted to combine with the car.....so my 2004 r40 NIB kit(the japanese kit with all the options)..is available....325 plus 15 shipping....(350 plus shipping at RC CHAMP in japan...)....48 states only.....
and, whoever buys the car...I'll sell them (new in package)...1 HARA 1 piece motor mount...1 HPI stainless brake disc(themachined one),and 2 sets of the japan only graphite arms for the r40..(all these options(from asia only) are virtually unobtainable)...for 90 bucks....PM me...

Sadly the hara/05 kit is missing the TI screw kit, while the 2004 had it.
It doesnt really need the ti pillow balls , but they do help. HPI does offer them but there very hard to find.
Otherwise I pick up the 3racing CF suspension mounts and steering plate.
But there is a few more option parts that are worth taking a look at:
hpi cg arms (probably better for high grip flat surfaces and stiff setups)
hpi stainless brake disc
hpi adjustable rear sway bar
hpi v2 shocks
p-dub racing bumper (more wheel protection)
mugen mtx-3 clutch setup (better clutch action and tuning options)
Also try the hpi solid rear axle on the front for a spool.

i already picked up the rc screwz kit for the r40....i am going to get the titanium pillow balls.....and im going to look into the other options...and the v2 shocks you were talkikng about...what are they...doesnt the hara come with upgraded shocks already???
one more question...does the hara kit come with cvd's
The aluminum shocks that come with the Hara edition are the standard ones. The V2 racing shocks come with the teflon pistons and I beleive they are hard anodized. As for the CVD's, yes it does come with them except they more closely resemble universals.
