Default Engine Help Please! :(

Hi, recently got a OS TR P T, got a problem....

It idles properly, however when i pull the throttle slightly abt 30-40%, the engine boggs out.

I have slowly tried to richen the fuel/air mixture screw even till the point it almost dies but it still cuts out when i slowly pull the trigger...

is there something else i can adjust? i have run out of options after trying for 4 hours....

TIA

If the engine bogs then you should have leaned it. Try going back to your original settings and lean the low-end some and see how that goes.

BTW we have a nitro engine forum just above.

Yep, definitely lean the engine if it's bogging down. It's all audible, if it sounds like it's gurgling and there is lots of smoke and oil coming from the stinger, then lean it out. If it's sounding starved and struggling, then richen it. Unfortunately, the two sound very similar and are hard to distinguish, if in doubt, richen it. The rich/lean mixture are affected by the temperature of the air/enging so give it a few minutes at idle to warm up, especially if your running it in the cold.

Thanks,
Chris

sounds like the engine is too rich or the mixture is not in right position. if everything seem to be fine, then check the turbo plug. change to other no. will help u finally.

Also try a hot plug, unless it is above 100 deg`s. I run hot always in the 12 engines.

Omg I have been trying to get my car to move like for 5hrs and i still cant seem to solve the problem....

i have tested mixture needle like from all the way in to all the way out.... which means thats not the problem....

is there something else that can cause it to cut out when i pull the trigger?

clutch engaging too early??
using the wrong pipe?? (im using the shark 5.2mm)
fuel lines too short??

Oh and i noticed that sometimes when trying to start the engine, it can sometimes run in the reverse direction! is that bad?

I am darned stressed and sad now....

Damn brother, that is a SERIOUS problem. An running backwards is NOT GOOD! I mean seriously, seriously not good. The only thing I could think of is the ignition timing being wrong due to an incorrect/faulty glow plug for your engine/fuel combination.

Thanks,
Chris

P.S: That's a nice car you've got!

By the way, is that a FUEL FILTER you've got coming out of the exhaust-fuel tank line? Rip it out right away. That line should just be a straight connection between the fuel tank and the tuned pipe. Only have a fuel filter on the fuel tank-engine line, and make sure it gets cleaned alot.

Thanks,
Chris

Also, check and clean your air filter, check and clean the clutch, check and clean the engine and, if you know how, strip it down completely. ONLY DO THIS IF YOU KNOW HOW!!!!

Thanks,
Chris
