hello to all you guys..
i just wanna ask that if somebody has done this..
to u think that the 52t spur gear of tb-02r will fit into the tt-01??
because we compared the gearing of tb-02r and tt01, and the tb-02r gearings is much faster than the 55t spur.
and can some1 suggest me a very high speed gearing for johnson 540, i wanna get the full top speed of it.
please help me tnx..

the TT01 can ONLY take the 55T and 58T and 61 T spur that were built for it. You will not be able to use the 52T spur gear. Also, I believe the pitch is different, so there will be gear grinding.

My thoughts on the TT01
Alright, so I had a chance to test and tune the TT01 all day at the local track today. To be honest, after you get all the right hopups, it's a decent car. However:
1) There is major slop in the front. To get rid of it, you'd have to spend a lot of money. I'm planning to get another ball diff, aluminum steering and tie rod (to get rid of the slop). That will cost me about 80 dollars, half the cost of a well-equipped TB02.
2) The TT01 is a great car if you keep crashing into things. I haven't broken ANYTHING yet. However, the plastic is twistable and soft. That means that while it can take punishment, it twists and also strips very easily.
3) Despite spending a lot of money, this car doesn't seem to have a lot of adjustments compared to other cars (I was hanging around TB02s and 414's :P). Still, it can get enough adjustments to be competitive. The slop as stated above causes some problems, though.
I guess I'm looking to upgrade now :P hehe

hey niki there is a 52 spur that will fit the tt-01 its the 52 spur from a F201 it will fit and also there is the other gears dugrant said hope that helps. hey dugrant did you get a one way diff, coz i think if you got a ball diff in the front aswell as the front one way it might get rid of the slop.

I have a ball diff in the front right now. gear diff in the rear.
I don't think a front one-way well help with the slop and stuff.
My main problem is that to get the TT01 up and running, I could buy a TB02.
TT01 Front One-way = 46 CDN
TT01 Aluminum steering = 33 CDN
TT01 Tierod = 8 CDN

Total = 87 CDN
that gets rid of the slop and makes the car a lot better, but that doesn't get rid of the soft plasticky feel of the TT01, or the lack of some other adjustments is all.

and also the front one way and steering set are from dinbal rc mart so if you buy them 2 you save on postage which i added to the price.
id sugest tou get them from where eva yougot them prices

Upgrading parts is also the fun part of the hobby but to a certain extent. I guess you're at the point where its not practical anymore to spend more when you can have better at spending less. Makes sense? Dont buy a tb02 now. After having it for sometime I think that's its too heavy to beat a tao4 on stock class. I'd suggest to wait for the ta05. Maybe its as good and as light as a tao4 or you could imitate kid--tt01 and buy a schumacher. Though its expensive its still cheaper than a 415. Its like a cheap mans 415.

you really think the TB02 is heavy, eh? yeah, reality has start to kick in. I'm thinking of keeping the TT01 for TCS and then getting another car for stock motor class racing (any chassis). I could keep the TT01... but not sure yet 
Thinking about the TA04 simply because of I'm sure the TA05 will be very expensive when it comes out.
Well, I managed to get some of the slop out by putting silicone in the ball diff cup joints. However, there is still some slop in the steering that needs to be taken care of. only the aluminum steering set can fix this... and it's expensive.
I might just upgrade the rest of the TT01 to get it up to spec, but w'ell see.

Since dugrant153 has a tt-01 I think he should go for a belt kit like tao4 or tao5. BTW the tao5 will not be expensive. Its around 17000 yen so its in the range of the tb02. Tb02 definitely heavier than my graphite evo kit even though it has titanium stuff, graphite stuff, lw reversible arms, lightweight outdrives, etc. Must be all the plastic
. Be it handles perfect.

. But the 415 and mi2 have similarities. Just like a CGM, tc3, etc. I like the schumacher coz its cheap around $240 and very race ready. The 415 is overprice at almost $500 here. So tell me, how did you find building your mi2? Is it metric or english tools you used? tamiya's are metric while tc3's are english.
