Yahweh, your Redeemer, and he who formed you from the womb says: 'I am Yahweh, who makes all things; who alone stretches out the heavens; who spreads out the earth by myself; Isaiah 44:24 WEB

In the Bible when someone was in trouble, danger, or in need, a male relative could 'redeem' them. This relative was called a 'kinsmen redeemer' and would step in and pay off their debt, buy back their property, and set them free.

A great example of this is in the book of Ruth. When Ruth and her mother-in-law Naomi were widows, living penniless and gleaning in the fields, a wealthy relative named Boaz stepped up and took them in. Ruth suddenly went from having nothing, to having it all. She is King David's great grandmother and in the lineage of Jesus (Ruth 4:17).

The Lord is often mentioned as a Redeemer in the Bible. The word Redeem means: to save, compensate for the defects of, vindicate. In this light, the Lord wants to:

- (Save) Rescue you and keep you safe from danger.

- Compensate for your defects and make you a better person.

- (Vindicate) Clear you of all blame.

Jesus became our Redeemer. He has stepped in and laid His own life down for us. The debt that we could not pay, He did, and He has chosen the church as His own bride just as Boaz chose Ruth. Leave your past behind and let the Lord guide you from this day on. Your past, is in the past, and your future is now a bright one.

Prayer: Heavenly Father I thank You so much for redeeming me. Lord I want all that You have for me in this life, lead me. Please teach me the things that I should know and let me hear You clearly, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Tools for Life

Also day by day, from the first day until the last day, [Ezra] read from the Book of the Law of God.

Nehemiah 8:18

Imagine you’ve hired a contractor to carry out some major remodeling on your home. You open the door to find a man dressed in casual clothes and no sign of tools or workers. Expressing surprise, you ask him if he is there to begin work and he says, “Yes, I am!” When you ask where his tools and workers are, he says, “Well, I’ll figure something out!”

Recommended Reading: 2 Timothy 3:16-17

This is a man who is not “thoroughly equipped” for his job (2 Timothy 3:17). And sometimes we find ourselves not equipped for the job of living life. But sometimes we meet people who are—they possess a sense of wisdom, of peace, of contentment, and of purpose that amazes us. When we get to know them, we discover they have spent consistent time, for many years, studying the Word of God. The doctrine, reproof, correction, and instruction they have gained is evident in their lives (2 Timothy 3:16).

Don’t show up for the job of life without the tools you need. Let the Word of God thoroughly equip you for life.

The truly wise man is he who always believes the Bible against the opinion of any man.

R. A. Torrey

Minds Governed by the Spirit

Those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. Romans 8:5

Sexual harassment cases have ruined a Who’s Who of reputations in the past few months, and much of the blame falls on our pornographic culture. Writing in the Los Angeles Times, Zac Crippen points out that behind the harassment problem is a pornography crisis, which has fostered a sexually aggressive society. “Nobody is talking about what could be one of the most effective ways to attack the problem: Recognizing that pornography consumption is a public health crisis,” Crippen said.
Recommended Reading: Romans 8:1-6
Like most addictions, pornographic habits are difficult to control, and it requires great effort to keep one’s mind and habits free from immorality. But we possess a powerful weapon in God’s Word—the Sword of the Spirit. Scripture offers protection against the lust of the flesh. We must set our minds on the things of the Spirit, and nothing helps more than Bible study and Scripture memorization. Do you need a healing verse to memorize today? Try Romans 8:6: “The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace” (NIV).

The Living Book

For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Hebrews 4:12

Amazon.com has more than 3 million book titles for sale. In spite of whatever claims those books make, none makes a claim like the Bible makes about itself: that it is alive.
Recommended Reading: Jeremiah 23:29
What does that mean? It means the Bible is not just words. The words are inspired by God’s Spirit (see 2 Timothy 3:16). And because the words are alive, they can find their way into the lives of those who read them, right down to the division between soul and spirit, joints and marrow—down into the inner parts of our life. God’s Word can even cause us to see the true intention of our thoughts and desires. And, like all living things, the Word of God can produce new life. As Peter wrote, we are “born again . . . through the living and enduring word of God” (1 Peter 1:23, NIV).

Be forewarned: Reading the Bible is not like reading any other book. It has the power to change your life!

There is a living God. He has spoken in the Bible.

Documentation

Not everyone who says to Me, “Lord, Lord” shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.

Matthew 7:21

Documentation—it’s everywhere. Your workplace may require you to wear an I.D. tag. If you are traveling to a foreign country, you have to show a passport. If you’re entering a foreign country for an extended stay, you have to produce a visa. You can’t just tell a policeman, “I’m a licensed driver”—you have to show your license.
Recommended Reading: Luke 6:46
In other words, in much of life your word is insufficient. And neither will it be sufficient at the gates of heaven. In a discussion of false prophets and bad fruit, Jesus said that just saying “Lord, Lord” will not provide access to the kingdom of heaven. You must have documentation—evidence that you have lived a life consistent with the will of God. That doesn’t mean a life of sinless perfection; it means a life of continuing on a path leading to Christ-likeness. It means evidence that the old, carnal man is being replaced by the new person filled by the Spirit.

Does your spiritual walk document your spiritual talk? Let your life prove the power of the Gospel today.

Salvation is only by a working faith. In short, good works are the fruit of saving faith.

The Seed of the Word

When anyone hears the word of the kingdom, and does not understand it, then the wicked one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is he who received seed by the wayside. Matthew 13:19

Humanly speaking, the hope of the human race is stored on the Norwegian island of Spitsbergen almost 800 miles from the North Pole. It is the Svalbard Global Seed Vault, an underground storage facility for hundreds of thousands of seeds from tens of thousands of crop species from around the world. It is designed to be a source of seeds for replanting food crops in the aftermath of a global catastrophe.
Recommended Reading: 1 Peter 1:22-23
Seeds represent the essence of life. Physical life depends on seeds as does spiritual life. Spiritually, the seed that leads to new birth is the Word of God. This is such an important concept that Jesus’ longest parable is spent on the necessity of good soil (hearts) to receive the Word (Matthew 13:1-23). In fact, He suggested this parable was a critical one among all His parables (Mark 4:13). The Word of God is the source of spiritual life and reproduction. We should preserve and protect it and let it bear fruit in us. Anyone can count the seeds in an apple, but only God can count the apples in a seed. Robert H. Schuller

The Only Way

When He had by Himself purged our sins, [He] sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.

Hebrews 1:3

In an age of tolerance and compromise, the idea that there is only one way to do something is roundly rejected. “One way” is considered narrow-minded, intolerant, inconsiderate, and even disrespectful. So, it’s not surprising that the New Testament’s message of forgiveness through Jesus alone is not received by many.
Recommended Reading: Acts 4:12
The writer of the letter to the Hebrews was not hesitant to make a “narrow” point about Jesus. He spent the first ten chapters of his epistle pointing out that Jesus did what no one else in Israel’s history had been able to do: provide salvation from sin, once and for all. The writer points out that Jesus was superior to the angels, to Moses, to the thousands of Aaronic priests, and to the sacrifices of those priests. “By Himself [Jesus] purged our sins [and] sat down at the right hand” of God—something no one else could have done. Peter confirmed that narrow point of view by saying there is salvation in no one else besides Jesus (Acts 4:12). Are you willing to embrace the Bible’s presentation of Jesus as the only Savior of mankind? It may not be popular, but it is true.

Free justification by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone.

So Jesus said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of His own accord, but only what He sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, that the Son does likewise. John 5:19 ESV

Their eyes welled up with tears as I handed them the envelope. Without saying anything, they knew what was inside because they had been silently praying for help. All the while they were trying to keep up an outward appearance that everything was fine. I just had this nagging feeling that I was supposed to give them some money, though by all appearances they appeared to have more than I did. God saw what I did not see.

Jesus rose early in the morning and prayed, then listened and was alert to what the Holy Spirit was saying. It was not a cold, dead, religious word but a living, fresh, relevant word each day. No one walked on water, until Jesus did. No one fed thousands from one lunch basket, until Jesus did. He was our example and worked with God daily. He always did what He saw the Father doing.

When you have that nagging feeling that you are supposed to do something, even though it appears to make no sense to you, do it. God often seeks those that will listen to be the answer to someone's secret prayer. Following the gentle prompting of the Holy Spirit will make your life come alive.

Prayer: Father, please refill me with your Holy Spirit and bring divine encounters in my life. I believe that You are the living God and have a plan for me. Teach me to recognize when You are speaking, in the name of Jesus.

Troubled Water

When the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, 'It's a ghost!' and they cried out for fear. But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, 'Cheer up! It is I! Don't be afraid.' Peter answered him and said, 'Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the waters.' He said, 'Come!' Peter stepped down from the boat, and walked on the waters to come to Jesus. Matthew 14:26 WEB

The wind and waves were beating against the boat as they crossed the Sea of Galilee. It had been a long dark night and it was almost morning when an image appeared near the disciples, walking across the top of the water. It was Jesus. The disciples were terrified thinking that it was a ghost, but Jesus calmed them. Then Peter, who tended to speak first and think later, asked Lord Jesus to call him out onto the water.

Jesus said 'Come' and Peter left of the safety of the boat, stepped out on the water, and started walking towards Jesus. When Peter saw the wind and waves around him, he took his eyes off of Jesus, became scared, and immediately started to sink into the water. Peter panicked and cried out for help. Jesus took hold of him, and they got back into the boat together. Then Jesus asked Peter one question: 'Why did you doubt?'

Peter asked the Lord for an opportunity, he got it, and then it became scary. Many of us ask for things in a passionate moment of prayer, and then later cry out in fear when it actually comes to pass. During a fast once, I prayed for the Lord to remove anything that was holding me back from Him. I had no idea that it was my job, and I was soon in the unemployment line. He saw me through that season and I did become closer to Him, but it was not pleasant to my flesh.

We have to leave the safety of the boat and our comfort zone to get the best that He has for us. Most will ignore this call just as the eleven stayed in the boat, but a crazy few will step out on the water and risk it all. Will you step out with nothing but faith to support you? Though it will be scary, Jesus still seeks those who will walk on the water when He calls them.

Prayer: Heavenly Father please guide me into all that You have for me. Place me where I need to be and reveal the gifts that You have placed in my life. Give me a clear vision of Your plan, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Haven't post anything in a while but this was on my spirit to post for someone here on RC TECH ..........................

For you don't delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it. You have no pleasure in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. O God, you will not despise a broken and contrite heart. Psalms 51:16 WEB

When I first came to the Lord, I was so ecstatic that I wanted to make up for everything that I had ever done wrong in the past. I enrolled in Bible college and like many others there, I developed a very legalistic view. I fasted for weeks, gave all that I had, tried to memorize the Bible, prayed all day, and listened to the Bible all night.

I wanted to earn my salvation and prove that my dedication to the Lord was stronger than everyone else there. But soon school just became a repetition competition, where we just repeated the things that we had heard someone else say. My knowledge was shallow.

Oh I knew a lot about Jesus, I just did not know Him.I talked a lot about Jesus, but I never really talked to Him. I sang a lot about Jesus, but I did not sing to Him. Jesus said that there would be those who called Him "Lord, Lord" and He would say, 'I never knew you.' Well that was me in a nutshell. I was so busy trying to be a good Christian, that I had no time for Him.

The Lord eventually broke me down to nothing, stripped away everything that I had, and separated me from everyone that I knew. It turned out to be the best thing that could have happened. I decided that I must have disappointed Him somehow. I must have taken too many wrong turns in life and He finally gave up on me. I had many excuses as to why He did not use me in ministry, but the whole time, He was preparing me.

Finally I dropped my 'Church Face' and started to just be 'Dion.' I began to involve God in my everyday life and talked with Him like a friend. I learned to relax, and to include Him in whatever decision I had to make that day. Only then did a relationship begin to develop between us, and that soon became life changing. Like the tiny mustard seed, faith will grow.

Attending church, fasting, praying, giving, reading the Bible, singing, is all good in moderation, but let Him be the focus, and do not neglect Him while you are doing it. Believe me, you can, because I have done it. I encourage you to make Jesus a part of your normal life each day. Be a real person, serving God the best you can. When you stumble, repent and get back up. Be honest with Him, for He already knows who you really are.

Prayer: Heavenly Father I thank You for loving me. Please help me be a better person, and make me stable. Lead me to where You want me and open the door that You want me to go through. Come into my life and be a part of it today, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.
