Default BUGGY AND TRUGGY ENGINES

So it's time I buy some new engines but sooooo confused on which ones for my buggy and truggy, not looking to spend a lot of money but don't wanna be cheap my choices now are
REDS R7 EVOKE (buggy)
REDS R5S (truggy)
HUDY FX 5K (both)
RC CONCEPTS MC3 (buggy)
RC CONCEPTS MC5 (truggy)
WERKS B6 PRO (buggy)
WERKS B5 PRO (truggy)
ELITE 5 (buggy)
ELITE 8 (truggy)

Or what else you guys think? I'm looking for smooth power in buggy and I like a lot of power in truggy and both with good fuel mileage, any input I would appreciate it thanks

Interesting list. You have $500 motors compared to $150 motors.

Why not include a mito in the list?

The one I can get is the older model without the new style carb, I don't know much about reds and seen the carb change on the new ones but the older model I was told is just as good??

It'd be a lot harder to find a bad engine these days than it is to find a good one.

The idea of the same engine in both cars - i.e. the FX - seems appealing... I'd love to try an FX... Or maybe a Picco 5TR in bug and 5TX in trug...

Any of those engines is good though..

Actually, given the fact that I actually don't have unlimited funds, I'd probably go with the Werks options.. B5, B6, even a B2.. Man.., what a fun predicament..

The point is though, all those engines are good. The question is more, are you - at breaking in, setting up, tuning, etc?.. Orienting your choice accordingly based on price is probably good advice.. None of them are going to tune themselves or win a race for you.

Best value imho for truggy would be a p5 or Elite 5 with an Ofna 053 pipe set. If you want to fork out a little more $$ than the 9853ss/41001 would be good too.

Pretty killer setup for a truggy. Works great in my mbx7t.

You don't have to spend $350 to get a great engine.

I'd suggest the Werks B5 or Novarossi P5. Both are inexpensive motors that will work well in buggy or truggy. Great power and excellent fuel economy with a Werks 2058 pipe.

I recently started racing the WERKS B6 Pro in Buggy and I am absolutely impressed by it!!
Power is smooth, easy to control and on the same level as all the other top engines I have run myself or ran against but I have much better runtime with it...

i was running a stock b5 in truggy and b6 in buggy and both were plenty fast. i then got a modified elite 5 from the nitro shop and it was awesome in the truggy and scary fast in the buggy. And don't forget you can run up to a .28 in a truggy but at the cost of fuel mileage.
