I could be wrong but, as long as your car makes weight. I don't see why not!

HI Everyone,

Well it has been a crazy few weeks for me traveling in Asia for events and last weekend to Australia for the Asian Onroad Championships but I made it home and wanted to post on here about the D3.5 as I know everyone is wondering.

It has sure been a crazy and sad situation over the past few months with our hobby going into the court system but it has and it has affected all of us mainly in a negative way. From all sides no matter if you are a racer, track owner or event promoter we all have had to make decision on what would be the best course to take on the situation. I had made the decision when this all started to stop allowing them for the events I am organizing, it was a tough decision as I know many racers had the motors, but I felt it was in the best interest of everyone to not allow them.

Now that this situation has been agreed upon and it is on the approved list for a specific time, I feel it is still in the best interest of the events I am organizing and everyone involved to follow our current position and not allow them for the IIC.

As we have done since our first IIC in 2005, our goal is to make the fairest and most enjoyable experience for everyone when they race with us and I feel this is the best way to reach our goal.

I ask that everyone please accept the decision and not make this a forum of good or bad about it. I understand and respect if you think this is the wrong decision, but lets not make the IIC forum the chat room about it.

I am sure I missed many questions over the past couple of weeks of my travels, so please email me them and I will be happy to answer.

Thanks as always to everyone for their support of the IIC now going into the 9th year. 8 years of good times and great memories in Vegas. Well great memories for most. Some...... not so good right guys. Why does Drew come to mind when I say that. Just kidding Love ya Drew. We are looking forward to another great year at the Riviera.

Thanks guys,
Scotty

Scotty,

Can you please clarify if only the D3.5 17.5 will not be allowed or ALL D3.5 motors aside from MOD?

I thought the 17.5 version is the only motor not legal.

No actually EFRA found the 10.5 to not be legal either according to their testing and devices.

Scotty is preparing to go to Slovakia for the season ending ETS race at the Xray factory so I am sure he is busy preparing for that. I am sure once he has time he will be on here to clear up any questions.

From what I understand, it was any spec motor that contained 20g wire. Which is the 17.5(2 strands of 20g) and the 10.5(2 strands of 20g, 2 strands of 22g).

The 13.5(2 strands of 21g, 2 strands of 23g) and the 21.5(2 strands of 21g) seem to meet the rules.

Im not sure what type of wire is in the 25.5 motor... but it is kind of a moot point given that there are no classes running that motor @ IIC.

Wow, this is getting more and more complicated. I see how a beginner can get discouraged easily. I feel lost too. It isn't anyone else's fault they read more than some of us do.

Hello,
I just called the Riviera to book my room (me and a buddy are sharing a room to reduce costs). During the reservation, they told me there was an additional fee of $20 for a 2nd person. They could not tell me if this was a flat $20 fee or if it was $20 per night. They told me to ask the person that organized the group booking code.
so what's up with this fee?

thanks,
tim
