We need a "Head Lights" division" this year.
OK, maybe not but Jeff Smith and I will be there with our headlights again.
For rubber sedan this year, I would suggest 4 classes. 21.5 (handout motor) no timing for amateur, 17.5 no timing, 17.5 with timing and open mod. It seemed sort of strange to have both the amateur and stock running the same motors last year. The people who ran both didn't have to make any changes to their driving style or setup other than switch sets of tires.
Just my two cents but I'll find a class that works for me whatever Scotty and crew decide.

im seriously thinking about comming over from little ol New Zealand to race in the IIC
now with current air port securities and the like there is a lot of things i cannot bring, ie batteries, charger, tools etc from New Zealand, but not a problem bring them back in
im a little lost on where to begin getting things, can i buy gear at the event ? or should i order it online and somehow get it sent to Las Vegas ?
any help/info would be great

Ed: Ship it a head of time. I'm pretty sure with the help of this wonderful forum, you'll be able to find someone that will give you an address and "bring your stuff" to the race for you.
Shipping it to the race directly works too, but you might want to get it hear with a few extra days to spare, so use a local person.
There is usually an on site shop that has all the major stuff though.
I know there's a track, 702 raceway, and a Hobby Town in Vegas.
VEGAS YEAH! Can't Wait, see you guys in a few Months!

I would carefully check what you can take. Although it was from Australia, we recently went to TITC in Thailand and had no issue whatsoever taking lipos, chargers and tools with us. Chargers and tools go in the luggage hold and the lipos were allowed to be carried in your carry on luggage. Even our radio was OK in the cabin. Just check carefully
