Default Should IFMAR Add Short Course?

I think it should be added as an exhibition class at the 2013 1/10-scale off-road Worlds. If you agree, check out this "Open Letter to IFMAR" and leave a comment.

I don't know, I've seen short course videos from Japan, Europe, Australia.

Stadium truck has been a nationals class in Australia since the early 90s, pretty soon short course will probably be one aswell.

It's weird. At my track, when they came out, there were mostly only Short course classes. Now it has kind of died down a little bit and my track is being overwhelmed by buggies. I am not complaining about that last part because I have one.

It seams that shourtcourse numbers up here are dwindling to, while other 1/10 scale classes are on the rise. I think it is a good beginner class, it brings alot of new guys in and they move on to other classes.

I don't think it's feasible. It would cost all the R/C companies' that much more money as IIRC each class at the world's takes up a whole day. Now you run into the issue of having to add a day and a bunch more expense for everyone involved.

Short bus is everywhere, which is fine with me. At the same time the one place it, or any other class, doesn't need to be is the IFMAR worlds. Leave the Worlds alone, it's fine the way it is..IMO

I think some of y'all need to get to some places to see that Short Course trucks are the real deal and are no longer a beginner series. I'm lucky enough to race at a very competitive track and just about every week the racing is closer in Short Course than in Mod Buggy.

Though the reasons are valid why we don't need to add another series to the worlds. It would cost the companies more money. I don't however agree with the "keep offroad old school." That is what is wrong with the RC Car hobby today. We keep thinking about what was popular WAY BACK WHEN and we do not move on. The racing has mostly stayed the same for NUMEROUS amount of years. With todays technology we should not be doing small 5 minute Triple A Mains. Though that is a whole 'nother topic on its on.

SCT will have a national championship in Belgium this year in both 2wd and 4wd, and I think it's great. Awesome attractive category for the beginners too. I just can't wait!

Locally here, 2wd SCT is shrinking rapidly. The beginner's that got into R/C with a SCT have tried other classes like Arena Truck or 2wd Buggy and realize how frustrating a 2wd SCT can be, so they drop the class for something that is easier to drive.

I keep hearing comments just like this. In a way that stadium truck never could, it seems short course is taking off everywhere.
