Truhe has been running the VST motors for a few weeks and has been liking them. He plans to run them at Reedy.

Anyone run a plastic wing on this kit instead of a lexan one? Similar to the 1/8 scale wings but not as big. Seems like every one runs clear lexan because the wings crack so fast.

The weight might be critical. an 8th scale plastic style wing might be very durable but most likely 3x the weight and with where its mounted might have adverse effects on the handling especially if driven hard. Not saying you couldn't change other things to compensate for it but in the end it might not be worth it.

I noticed the TLR wing is thicker than it used to be, which is nice. Holds up a little longer

I guess they are imported from Sweden, though.
You always pay a little more for the Swiss movement.

Run the jconcepts high down force high clearance 6.5" Wing ( jci0123) . The stock wing sucks for durability

They should be a tad thicker and they have little notches in the side so the tires don't rub under suspension compression. You get 2 if you buy a body, so $10 for 2 wings, or $17 for a body and 2 wings. Better in my opinion to pay $7 extra and get an extra body rather than just 2 wings.

I've seen gearing recommendations from earlier 2011. But Evans's setup is using a lot larger spur. Does anyone use a larger spur like this compared to the 76? If so, what is a good spur/pinion combo for an 8.5 and 10.5?

Setup question: I am running the Dustin Evans setup with a couple exceptions:
Rear Shocks: 56 pistons with 20wt oil
Reat Toe: Stock Plate
Rear Camber lnk: 2mm shimm on Hub and 3mm shimm on inside

The Problem is, the car has a lot of traction to the point that it pushes in the corner, then coming out of the corner at the very end, car will suddenly break loose and want to spin out. I am thinking that the problem may be the stock 4* toe plate, but wanted some advice. Otherwise, car handles really good.

Here is what I have came up with, I do need a lead extension for the R10 though.
The cap for the R10 is under the speedo tray, I cut a notch in the battery block and it is in there.
Extra wire is on top of the battery foam under the speedo tray and the switch is mounted to the side of the speedo.

Noticed something wierd today. My pistons on the shock shaft have up and down movement. You can feel it when you pull the shaft in and out really quick. I completly removed the shaft and I can move the piston up and down slightly. Both clips are on and seem straight. Is this normal?
