How can I make a trraxxas slash fast?

For Power:
Brushless motor and ESC
LiPo battery
For Handling:
Better tires
Pro-Line ProTrac suspension kit
Change shock oil and set the suspension up to fit your track
Some people also swear by Pro-Line's Power Stroke shocks, but they are expensive!
Oh and practice!

I hear if you tie a string to the front bumper and then tie the other end to your car it will in as fast as you want... but go fast enough and it will double as a kite for twice the fun!

early Happy Birthday!!! Jatotheripper recommended going brushless (VXL or MM Pro or Sidewinder,Lipo (2s 5000) and that's a good idea! When you first get the thing raise the rear body mounting post so it won't rub the body. Check out going with some kind of ProLine tires ie:bowties, calibers or something like that. Shocks? the stockers are fine but change the oil to at least 50wt FT/Rear and eventually think about the Big Bores, or get aluminum shock caps. The stock body?--get rid of it and find something Pro-line: Carnage, Desert Rat, Hardcore, etc or something else-- That's about it!

If you race it in a SPEC class about all you can do is get a LIPO battery. All the SC trucks out of the box are pretty much equal as far as the stock motor goes. The key to winning SPEC races is to not make mistakes. Once you get behind, it's hard to make up positions unless other people crash. Your truck will be as fast as everybody else's (straight-line speed anyway) right out of the box. You just have to learn how to drive it fast around the corners and over the jumps.

This is for a Rustler but it should work for the Slash
