The 2011 Spring Shootout Series is a four (4) race point’s series in which racers will accumulate points according to their finishing position, in the main event, on the selected race dates. The top three in each class at the end of the series will win prizes from our series sponsors!

Race 1 – April 9th
Race 2 – April 23rd
Race 3 – May 21st
Race 4 – May 28th Final and Prize Giveaway

Gates will open at 8:00am
Practice starts at 8:30am
Sign-ups close at 11:30am
Practice closes at 11:45am
Racing Starts at 12:00 noon

Entry Fee $25.00

There will be one (1) throw out allowed for racers who miss a point’s night or have a poor finish which they do not want to add to their point’s total. So three (3) races will count towards the series point’s total and the following is how the points will work for each individual Spring Shootout Series point’s night. The first place finisher in each class on each series point’s night will receive 100 points for that night. For each position under that minus one (-1) point from the upper position:

Finishing Position Points
First 100
Second 99
Third 98
Fourth 97 and so on

The TQ / Top Qualifier for each class will also receive one (1) bonus point for that night. Adding excitement to qualifying and possibly making the difference in winning the series! So theoretically on a series point’s race night a racer could TQ his class and finish first place in the main event which would award him 101 points for that night.

At the end of the series if there is a tie in point’s we will use the following format for a tie breaker:
Step One: The most amount of wins
Step Two: The most TQ’s
Step Three: The better finishing average: Adding the 3 race finishing positions (not points) together, then using the total and dividing it by 3 = average finish.

Classes are as follows and determination of a skill level change is at the discretion of ARC Raceways Race Director only.

Sportsman 1/8 Buggy
Expert 1/8 Buggy
Pro 1/8 Buggy+
Sportsman Truggy
Expert Truggy*
Sportsman SC 2wd**
Expert SC 2wd*
Sportsman SC 4wd**
Expert SC 4wd*

Sportsman Class: This class supports drivers who are just beginning to race or whose skill level is one of a sportsman.

Expert Class: This class supports drivers whose skill level is further honed and have advanced their way out of the Sportsman Class. Typically an Expert Class driver has a good amount of stick time under his belt and could have a couple sponsors (non chassis) starting to help them out.

Pro Class: This class supports drivers whose skill level is one of a Pro and has advanced their way out of the Expert Class. The Pro Class is the pinnacle of one’s talent and you regularly find drivers aspiring for factory sponsorships as well as factory pro drivers who are paid ambassadors for the sport, racing the Pro division.

*Sponsored drivers must compete in the expert division of these classes.
+Any driver with a chassis sponsorship of 1% and above must race the Pro Class in 1/8 Buggy.
** Sportsman SC Class must run a motor no larger than 13.5 and no boost on ESC.
